Jungle
Jungle are a director duo consisting of Vince Tigre and Marcus Cidreira who tell stories of misfit characters through heart-racing action and textural visual effects against epic natural landscapes and city skylines. From the story of astrophysicist Sera Markoff (one of the first humans to ever see black hole) in The Way Forward for the Karman Project; to a diverse cast of city characters who take charge of their own fate in The Power Of The Button for Uber.
Jungle were born in Rio, Brazil, and began their careers in post production and fine arts and started collaborating on films together in 2016. Through their early work they developed an innate understanding of cinematography, casting and performance and it’s these more analogue qualities mixed with their magical and mysterious visual effects that gives their body of work such a unique quality. The duo burst onto the scene in 2020 with the film ‘Trapped’ for Jägermeister – in which a man’s tether to his intense city life manifests through the actor’s body contorting in architecture – earning them the Gold British Arrow for Best New Director in 2020.
Jungle’s films have been awarded various accolades – such as being shortlisted at Cannes Lions 2022, winning Silver, Wood and Graphite Pencils at D&AD in 2022, winning a Webby in 2022 and winning a Golden Clio in 2022. Jungle partnered with Wieden + Kennedy/Portland and FIFA 23 also in 2022 for ‘Matchday’, a cinematic anthem that captures the passion of soccer’s global fanbase. The film was chosen as an Editor’s Pick in AdAge.
