Abigail Wilson
Abigail Wilson is a London-based writer/director and actor, who possesses a keen eye for the peculiar, a passion for the eccentric, and an innate talent for humour.
She had an impressive debut with her music video for Modeselektor's 'Mean Friend', earning her a UKMVA Win in 2021 for 'Best Dance/Electronic Music Video – ‘Newcomer'. She followed up with another UKMVA win in 2023 for her subversive Stone video challenging perceptions of masculinity through a pseudo serious dance machine face off.
In 2024 she wrote and directed a film ‘Triple The Vote’ for Upvote – a youth-led, non-partisan campaign to increase voter turnout amongst young people in the UK. The film was viewed more than 2 million times on social media and through billboards and out-of-home advertising. The film was featured on David Reviews (Five Stars), Dazed, Little Black Book, Shots and more.
Her 2024 short film Overdrive – in which a woman fights for control over her body and mind in a metaphorical joyride of speed, stunts, and the relentless intensity of her menstrual cycle – was supported by Arts Council England and charity Wellbeing of Women and is currently being selected for festivals worldwide.
