Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki, ASC, AMC, is a cinematographer, known for his groundbreaking techniques and characteristic style. He has been recognized worldwide for his accomplishments and is the recipient of numerous awards, including four Academy Award nominations, a BAFTA, and an ASC Award.
Chivo is a frequent collaborator with fellow Mexican filmmaker and friend Alfonso Cuarón. His most acclaimed film was Children of Men, which utilized a number of new technologies and distinctive cinematography techniques. Lubezki has also collaborated with Terrence Malick on The New World, and more recently the critically acclaimed The Tree of Life.
Lubezki has received numerous accolades for his cinematography, including four Academy Award nominations, a BAFTA, and an ASC award. Chivo signed with Park Pictures in 2011, and made his commercial directorial debut with a Powerade campaign for Wieden + Kennedy.
